Eyelid Dermatitis

Eyelid dermatitis is the inflammation of the skin on the eye, which typically appears as dry, itchy, or irritated skin and may sometimes be referred to as eczema, psoriasis, or seborrheic dermatitis on the eyelids. The discomforts of dermatitis are often caused by different contact irritants or allergens such as makeup, creams, contact solutions, etc.

Treatment Can Help

  • Reduce inflammation of the entire eyelid
  • Return normal functioning of the meibomian glands, improving the tear film on the cornea and reducing dry eye
  • Decrease the risk of irritation and potential damage to the cornea

How is the Treatment Performed?

During the appointment, Dr. Cole assesses the area of irritation in order to properly evaluate the condition and prescribe an ointment best suited for treatment. The prescription treatment provided by Dr. Cole will need to be followed as directed on the box. A follow-up appointment may be scheduled to check on the condition and reassess treatment if necessary.
