Over years of UV ray exposure, our skin begins to show the development of age spots and sun damage. With a Broad Band Light treatment, also known as intense pulse light (IPL), patients are able to see correction in skin pigment irregularities. A BBL laser treatment is designed to specifically target both red and brown pigments including sunspots, freckles, small facial veins, blotchiness and other skin conditions. This treatment can be done almost anywhere on the body, with the most common areas being the face, neck, back of the hands, upper chest and shoulders.
Broad Band Light Can Help:
- Reduce the appearance of brown and red spots caused by sun damage or aging
- Improve overall tone and face with no down time
- Rejuvenate the skin complexion and reverse sun damage
How is the Treatment Performed?
Broad Band Light treatments take approximately 20-30 minutes. The light energy of the BBL gently heats the upper layers of your skin and stimulates your skin cells to regenerate. BBL is used to treat age spots, small facial veins, and other skin conditions. Typically, after the first treatment you can start to see a more even color to your skin tone. Best results are seen after a series of 3-5 treatments. Following each treatment, skin may appear red and flushed for up to 12 hours, and/or brown spots may become darker. Redness usually disappears within an hour, and brown spots fade over the course of 1-5 weeks.
