Laser Resurfacing

From UV light damage to wind chapped and prolonged dehydrated skin, signs begin showing over time as the elasticity and collagen reproduction start to fade as the years progress. The result can appear as age spots, winkles and uneven tone and texture, often making us look older than we feel on the inside. Laser resurfacing is an ablative laser that is effective in treating sun-damaged skin, acne scarring, moderate wrinkles, age spots and skin discoloration.

Laser Resurfacing Can Help

  • Improve the appearance of scars caused by minor trauma or acne scarring
  • Remove moderate wrinkles and smooths out the overall texture of the skin
  • Even out the overall tone of skin and improves the signs of age spots, sun-damaged, and other discoloration.
  • Stimulate new collagen reproduction which helps to thicken skin

Combining Laser Resurfacing With Other Procedures

For patients looking to further improve moderate to severe wrinkles, a surgical procedure may be something to consider that targets the concerned area. A face lift or S-lift can help soften texture around the mouth, cheek, neck and jowl area, creating a more dramatic improvement for texture in the face and neck areas.

My entire experience at Cole Aesthetic was wonderful, start to finish. The entire staff treated me with friendly respect and as a valued patient from the minute I walked in the door for the first time…

How is Laser Resurfacing Performed?

Laser resurfacing is done under moderate IV sedation. Once the patient is sedated, Dr. Cole begins the procedure. The laser emits a specialized bean of light that passes through the skin at varying depths, ablating (evaporating) very fine layers of skin. As a result, the laser diminishes the look of wrinkles and other unwanted textures and tones. Older, aged collagen is remodeled into newer, fresher skin. As new cells from the healing process begin to grow, the skin gradually becomes smoother and softer.

Downtime and Recovery for Laser Resurfacing

Patients can expect to see redness and sloughing of the skin for around 10-14 days. During the healing stages, it is important to try and avoid as much sun exposure to the treatment area as possible, as laser treatments tend to make the skin more sensitive to UV rays. Physical barriers such as hats and visors can help reduce your exposure and sunscreen should be applied once the skin is fully healed.

MicroLaser Peel

The MicroLaser Peel is an effective form of skin rejuvenation that produces dramatic results. We offer these peels from 10–50 microns. This treatment delivers excellent results for poor skin tone, fine lines, wrinkles, and sun-damage. You’ll experience 3-7 days of redness and peeling with this procedure.
