Hair loss is a distressing problem that affects millions of men and women in the U.S. today. Now, there is a revolutionary way to perform hair transplants that provides natural results with less discomfort and downtime. NeoGraft enhances the hair transplantation process, offering patients superior results without the linear scarring common with other hair transplant techniques. NeoGraft is now available at Cole Aesthetic Surgery, giving patients in Northwestern Washington another option in hair restoration.

What is FUE?

NeoGraft is a device that automates follicular unit extraction (FUE) in hair transplant procedures. FUE is a technique that removes individual follicles from a donor location and places them into the area of the scalp where thinning has become a problem. FUE is a preferred method of hair restoration for most patients and physicians because it tends to produce more natural results and less scarring than traditional strip methods.

What is NeoGraft?

NeoGraft enhances the FUE technique with gentle pneumatic pressure that makes it easier to remove follicles from the donor site and place them into the treatment area. The procedure allows for hair transplantation to be performed using local anesthesia, reducing the risk and recovery time for patients. The procedure also tends to involve less discomfort than traditional hair transplant procedures while offering superior results.

How does it work?

NeoGraft procedures are performed in our office at Cole Aesthetic Center using local anesthetic. The follicles are carefully extracted using the NeoGraft device, which preserves the follicles more effectively than manual extraction methods. This means more of the transplanted follicles are likely to “take” in your treatment area.

The extracted follicles are then placed into the scalp in the treatment area, using the same device and pneumatic pressure. The device means smaller punctures for both extraction and transplantation, which eliminated the need for sutures after the procedure. The treated areas typically heal up within a matter of days.

Getting Results

Most of our patients are back to regular activities the day after their procedure. Oral pain medication may be taken for the first few days to manage any post-procedural discomfort. In the first few months following treatment, it is not unusual for the transplanted hair to fall out. This hair is rapidly replaced with new hairs that tend to grow rather quickly. By the ninth month after the NeoGraft procedure, the majority of patients experience full results.

NeoGraft and Eyebrow Restoration

NeoGraft is not only recommended for patients with thinning hair on the scalp. Patients that have thinning eyebrows due to chemotherapy treatments, medical conditions or over-plucking, can also be restored using the NeoGraft technique. In this case, it is very important to find a physician that is experienced in this procedure, since the proper placement of the transplanted hairs will produce a natural result.

Is NeoGraft right for you?

NeoGraft is an appropriate procedure for many men and women that are distressed about thinning hair on the scalp or eyebrows. The procedure is minimally-invasive and offers excellent results with less discomfort and downtime than traditional hair transplant techniques.
