My entire experience at Cole Aesthetic was wonderful, start to finish. The entire staff treated me with friendly respect and as a valued patient from the minute I walked in the door for the first time…
How is a Profractional Performed?
A profractional treatment is a non-surgical procedure that is generally well-tolerated and is continuously numbed with cool air throughout the entire process. Once the treatment is completed, a topical barrier is applied over the skin to keep foreign particles out and moisture in.
What is the Downtime for a Profractional?
Immediately following the treatment, the targeted area will be warm and red with minor pinpoint bleeding. Redness may be warm to the touch for the first couple hours and may look and feel similar to a sun burn first couple days. Patients should avoid taking any anti-inflammatory pain medications such as ibuprofen or advil, as the inflammatory response is what you want to achieve with the profractional for optimal results. With a profractional, skin becomes more sensitive to UV rays, so it is important to remember to avoid direct sun exposure for 2 weeks after treatment.
Swelling decreases quickly for most patients, however you may still have some skin slough off, pinkness or slight sensitivity in some areas for a couple day after treatment.
