Cheek Lift
Cheek Lift (Mid-Facelift)
As we age, our skin naturally loses elasticity and volume, and we develop lines around our mouth and a hollowness in the under-eye area. A mid-facelift or cheek lift is a surgical procedure that can bring newfound rejuvenation to your face.
At Cole Aesthetic Center, Dr. Erin A. Cole and his team work with patients individually to develop a plan for achieving the look you desire. We discuss your goals and build toward reaching them. The results help build confidence and reach a body that you know you deserve.
How a Cheek Lift Works
It is relocated back up onto the cheekbones where it used to be when you were younger. The result gives you the look of having fuller cheekbones and bringing new life to your facial expressions.
Additionally, it raises the outer eyebrows and flattens any folds at the corners of the mouth. All together, it creates a livelier expression and a well-sculpted face that can build confidence.
How is the Lift Performed?
A mid-face lift consists of two main incisions in order to achieve results. The first is a hidden incision made in the temple scalp. The second will be inside the mouth underneath the upper lip. Both of them are in areas that won’t leave visible scarring while still providing striking results.
This procedure may also be performed through a lower lid incision while simultaneously rejuvenating your lower eyelids. Both incisions are hidden, so the only outward signs of the surgery are the improvements to your looks.
During the Surgery
During surgery, the patient is typically under light sedation anesthesia to ensure a comfortable experience. However, since it is so minimally invasive, it can also be performed under local anesthetic with a mild sedative.
Since this procedure is minimally invasive, you can expect to spend little time toward it, yet still see amazing results.
Recovery and Downtime for a Mid-Facelift
For most patients, the downtime for a mid-face or cheek lift is about the same as with a traditional facelift. Though the healing process is relatively swift, it takes time and care to keep it on track.
There will be sutures at the incision sights for up to 2 weeks to facilitate effective healing. During this time, it is common to experience minor bruising and swelling.
Keep the Activity To a Minimum
Patients are also advised to limit their daily physical activity. Unnecessary strain on the healing areas can impede the path to a smooth recovery.
After the procedure, most patients usually feel better within a few days to a week. Even though you will feel fine, it is still essential that you keep activity to a minimum. The next few weeks are a critical period for healing, and following your physician’s instructions will be crucial.
You can most likely resume regular activity within three weeks. However, this depends on your particular procedure, and your physician will inform you of your expected recovery time.
The Results of a Cheek Lift
After the surgery and recovery, you will begin to see changes immediately. Your face will be livelier and restored. Even once the healing is complete, it may take some time for the final results to become apparent.
The good news is that as each day passes, you’ll see the changes taking place. With each morning, you will see improvement and feel your confidence being built up constantly.
Mid-Facelift Transformation
Often, a mid-facelift can be combined with other procedures to generate a complete makeover. There may be other target areas that you’d like to see improved and restored.
Some common procedures that go alongside a cheek life are:
When done in tandem with these other procedures, the results build on one another. You can enhance and restore features while building confidence in your physical appearance.
Each patient is unique, and Dr. Cole and his team will be able to put together a plan that matches your exact needs.
