Sun damage, or “photoaging,” is when your skin loses its ability to regenerate, as a result of exposure to UV rays. These rays:
- Create age-inducing free radicals
- Destroy collagen, the protein that regenerates your skin cells
- Damage elastin, causing leathery wrinkles and loss of tone
- Change genetic material (a forerunner to cancer)
On the surface, UV damage may include sun spots, harsher wrinkles, and blotches on the face, neck, chest, back and arms. With time, these signs grow more obvious.
Fight Photoaging… with Photorejuvenation
Photoaging is not wholly irreversible, thanks to Broad-Band Light technology, or BBL.
“I had sun-damaged skin, irregular skin tone and many moles. Your staff has enthusiasm, knowledge, skill and competence. I had five sessions of Broad-band Light laser treatments and from the first treatment have experienced remarkable firming, and my skin looked better after each procedure.” — Cole Aesthetic Center patient
At Cole Aesthetic Center, we can treat freckles, sun spots, age spots and blotchiness. We can also address visible facial veins, fine lines and many other skin problems.
Your Treatment: What to Expect
BBL treatments last about half an hour. Our patients compare the sensation of BBL to a warm rubber band snapping against your skin. To prevent discomfort, we can apply a topical anesthetic cream in advance.
Afterward your skin may be red for up to 12 hours; you may also notice sun spots grow darker; these should fade within one to five weeks. In fact, most of our patients notice improvements even after their first session: smoother skin, less noticeable pores and lines, also a better complexion as irregularities in pigment fade away.
For more information, you can listen to what other BBL patients have said here.
